Abbott directs Texas grid agencies to address data center costs

The governor asked the PUC and ERCOT to develop proposals intended to place electric infrastructure costs for data centers on those customers.

Governor Greg Abbott's June 10 letter directs the Public Utility Commission of Texas and ERCOT to develop recommendations so data centers pay the full electric infrastructure costs associated with their service. The agencies were asked for a joint memo by July 17.
